Foundation in formation Interim stewardship: Celiums Solutions LLC Read the status note

About / Institution in formation

An eventual home for software meant to outlive its origin.

Hyphae Research Foundation begins with three systems and a commitment to make their technical and institutional boundaries equally inspectable. The foundation is the destination; the current initiative is the honest starting point.

Mission

Cultivate open infrastructure for durable, accountable computation.

We focus on systems that operate locally, remember useful state, survive interruption, and carry evidence that can be examined independently. We publish the code, the contracts, the methods, the limits, and the decisions needed to continue the work.

Our current technical scope is intentionally narrow: Hyphae, a local-first verifiable data engine; Hyphae Transformer, a governed PyTorch framework for reproducible architecture research; and Hyphae BitNet, a correctness-first CPU runtime for supported ternary networks.

Legal status

People

Founder / Interim steward

Mario

Project origin, technical direction, and formation work. Full legal name, role boundaries, affiliations, and future board relationship must be published before incorporation.

Open seats

Maintainers and independent directors

The initiative is seeking the structure, not claiming the people. Appointments, affiliations, terms, conflicts, and authority will appear here when formally established.

Institutional commitments

Public status

Legal, project, release, and research maturity must be labeled with dated facts rather than implied through design or language.

Rights clarity

Code licenses, documentation licenses, marks, contributor copyright, model rights, and asset transfers remain separate and explicit.

Open decisions

Technical and governance decisions are public by default, with named exceptions for security, legal, personnel, and conduct matters.

Continuity

Repositories, packages, domains, signing identities, funds, and operational knowledge require documented succession and dual control.
